For this project featuring a retaining wall Highland Village, we were asked to replace a deteriorating railroad cross tie wall with a new wall, and construct a new staircase, all from Milsap Stone. While once a popular choice for retaining walls, most of the wooden railroad tie walls are now crumbling and being replaced with sturdier options.

To start, our crew carefully dug out and hauled away all of the crumbling material from the previous wooden wall. After stabilizing the foundation, they then rebuilt a new retaining wall and added stone steps using long-lasting, natural Milsap Stone. The finished project is a beautiful improvement to the homeowner’s space.
