Swimming pool removal doesn’t have to be a major problem. Is your pool old and outdated? Are you trying to sell your home and losing buyers due to a run-down pool? Or do you just want to use your valuable backyard space in another way? If so, then a swimming pool removal can be a very worthwhile project. But be warned…swimming pool demolition and removal is no small task. Even handy homeowners and Do-It-Yourselfers will want to leave this job to trained professionals.
Removing a pool requires compliance with local building requirements. It can also be dangerous and expensive if done improperly. Incorrect use of heavy equipment can tear up your yard, damage your home, and destroy other landscape features like decking, patios, utilities, and irrigation systems. Simply put, this is not the kind of job you want to assign to someone inexperienced.
Pool Demolition & Removal
Your best option is to contact a professional who understands both demolition AND landscaping. This allows you to get rid of that unwanted pool AND ensure that you can restore your yard into a beautiful outdoor living area.
Below is an example of a swimming pool and wooden deck that we removed from a home in Arlington. After permitting, the demolition included draining the standing water that had collected in the old pool, punching holes in the bottom and breaking down the old concrete shell. We then removed the concrete debris and old wooden deck. We back-filled the area with new dirt and compacted it to prevent development of a sink-hole. Finally, we repaired the entire lawn to prepare it for a fresh new landscape.
